Bachelor of Applied Science in education
If you’re a paraeducator/paraprofessional or early childhood educator, consider San Jac’s Bachelor of Applied Science in education with an emphasis in early childhood. This degree will prepare you to work with children from six weeks through third grade. You may also work in an early childhood organization like Head Start or apply for teacher certification to teach preschool through third grade in public schools.
“What sets our particular bachelor’s degree apart is that it is designed for working paraeducators,” said Rinehart. “If you’re already working in a school district or at an early learning center, then you can use those observation hours for the degree.”
